History: As to where Zigra came from, or to what purpose it was created, may never be known. All that is known is that it was an Alien Bio-weapon that came from Outer Space. It had somehow come to Earth, where it was taking a rest within the ocean depths. Unfortunately a French underwater nuclear test disturbed it's slumber. In response it attacked a ship that had taken part in said test.
For some unknown reason, Gamera showed up on the scene, perhaps sensing the disturbance created by the Nuclear Test, or maybe sensing Zigra's presence. Nonetheless, the two monsters collided. Zigra was able to get the upper-hand and momentarily knocked Gamera out with his fire beam. When all seemed lost for those aboard the ship, Gamera was awoken by a nearby sub that had responded to the commotion up on the surface, and had taken a shot at Gamera with a missile, jarring the Guardian Monster awake. Wasting no time, Gamera launched toward Zigra, catching the alien creature by surprise. Grasping his opponent in a mighty hold, Gamera took the monster to an active volcano somewhere near Java, where he promptly dumped Zigra into the fiery molten pit below. The threat of Zigra was thus swiftly ended.
