- Transform: Once a piece of a Matango mushroom is eaten by an organism, that organism will become addicted to the mushrooms. The more of the mushrooms they eat will cause a mutation in their cells that will eventually turn that organism into a Matango.

History: For decades, maybe even centuries, sailing ships would crash against the rocks of the Matango Island. The ships' crews only having two choices for survive, one being starve and the other eating the Matango mushrooms which would turn them into the strange plants. The island soon became a living forest as the Matango spread through out, each time converting more humans that crash against the rocks.
One unlucky ship got drifted into the island and soon the people on board discovered the horrors of the island from another ship's log. The crew began to turn on one another, one asking hundreds of dollars just for a few turtle eggs that can rarely be found on the shore lines. Food was beginning to run low and some of them dared to feast on the Matango. Soon, all but two of the crew members were transformed and the attack was only to begin. Soon, only one managed to escape on their ship that drifted back to the shore, but as the days passed, he could only fight for so long against the hunger. The fight wasn't long he had to give in and began to feed on some of them that were on the ship. Just as his body began to morph, his ship was rescued and he was sent back to Tokyo for what little help could be offered. To this day, the island of the strange Matango awaits, waiting for another ship load of unsuspecting people to join their colony.
