History: Seeking to find cures for every one of mankind's ills, eccentric scientist Professor Ramsey Norton experimented tirelessly with various chemical combinations, disposing of his failures in a large plastic, and roughly human-shaped, mold-like container the professor named Chemo. He felt that the presence of a humanoid container would remind him of his various failures, and hopefully spur him onward toward success.
After experimenting on a failed growth formula that he hoped could've been used on plants to help feed starving nations, Norton again poured this failure into Chemo, finally managing to fill the large vessel in the process. Unfortunately, the chemicals caused a bizarre reaction that results in Chemo coming to life and growing into a building-sized giant right before the horrified professor's very eyes.
Before it's creator could make a move to reverse this bizarre process, the creature spewed forth a stream of volatile chemicals, incapacitating Norton and ultimately killing him.
Chemo, now possessing a primitive yet malevolent intelligence, then proceeded to go on a destructive rampage, only to eventually be stopped by the robotic heroes, the Metal Men. But this was not to be the last that mankind would see of the monstrous Chemo, as it has returned countless times since.
