- Immortality: Doomsday can be killed, but, as designed, will come back to life shortly after. He cannot be permanently killed. To make matters worse, whatever does kill him once, cannot be used a second time, as he becomes more resistant, or even immune to what killed him. As a result of his creation, and as intended by his creator, Doomsday is highly resistant to most physical damage, which rivals even that of Superman himself, though this doesn't negate the possibility of injury. This also gives him enhanced adaptation abilities that even if he's not killed, Doomsday can, at times, adapt his body to withstand and protect against certain attacks that do not go beyond his ability to recover from. This also gives him a very powerful form of regeneration that allows him to heal damage in mere seconds.
- Extraordinary Jumper: Doomsday can leap extremely far and high into the air.

History: Centuries ago, on the planet known as Krypton, an experiment was taking place. The head of this experiment, Bertron, aimed to create the ultimate life form. To achieve this end, he and his crew sent out a baby infant into the then inhospitable Kryptonian environment, which was, at this point in its history, a hellish and violent world where only the strongest of creatures could survive. The planet was, in fact, home to such creatures, and they proceeded to ruthlessly kill this child. But that did not deter Bertron's ambitions, as he simply collected the remains and cloned the child again, only to send it out once more in a form of accelerated natural selection.

Time and time again, over many years, the same experiment continued, replacing crew members who had grown too old or died., but gradually, over time, the child began to evolve to it's surroundings, adapting and improving upon itself. Soon, it grew to dominate the environment, driving the monsters that had killed it so many times before into extinction. After so many years, and so many trials, the experiment had proven a success.

But what old Bertron had failed to take into account, was that as it was being continually cloned, over and over again, the continual agony of the creature's many deaths had become apart of it's genetic memory. It had grown to hate all life, and set its sights on its creators, the ones who had put it through so much pain. Without hesitation it killed the research crew, including his father Bertron.

Hitching a ride on a transport ship delivering materials and supplies, the creature left his birthplace of Krypton, and over time, the other inhabitants of the planet discovered Bertron's technology and used it to their own advantage. The monster, Bertron's ultimate being, though, went on a massive killing spree across many planets that lasted many years, having run-ins with the Green Lanterns, a much younger Darkside, and even the barbaric Khunds, before landing on the planet Calaton. As it greatly ravaged the planet, like it had done so many times before, the royal family combined their life forces into a single energy being, the Radiant. This new obstacle proved too much for even the ultimate being, and after a hard-fought battle, the monster was killed in a large blast of energy that laid waste to a fifth of the planet itself.

Yet, despite the evil it had brought upon them, the Calatonians still gave the beast proper burial procedures. It's seemingly lifeless body was wrapped and shackled, so that his spirit would not rage in the afterlife, and was shot off into space within a large metallic casket.

If fate had been kind, Doomsday would've drifted eternally throughout the cosmos, but no, that was not to be. Errant asteroids managed to bring his astral hearse plummeting toward an unsuspecting Earth, the collision sending the casket deep within the Earth's surface. This too would not hold the monster that would come to be known as Doomsday, as he soon escaped, and rampaged across parts of America, before coming into conflict with the Justice League. Unfortunately, not even the combined might of Booster Gold, Guy Gardner, Maxima, Bloodwynd, Fire, Ice, and Blue Beetle was enough to stop the monster, which made short work of them, despite the fact that he literally had one hand tied behind his back due to the Calatonian burial restraints still being there. It was during this time that the creature received its infamous name, Doomsday.

The chaos and destruction soon brought the attention of Superman himself, who proceeded to take on this beast almost entirely by himself. During their battles, Doomsday began to take interest in billiards and television commercials advertising some major wrestling competitions being held in the city of Metropolis, which appealed to his lust for blood and destruction, thus he became enticed to head toward the city.

The titanic battle raged across many towns and many cities, all the way to Metropolis, where the two combatants; two sons of Krypton from different eras, finally ended their destructive battle with two final deathblows, leaving both of them lifeless in front of the Daily Planet building. But this was not to be the end of either combatant, as they both soon returned to life.
