Powers:
- Bark: Like normal trees, the Tabanga is covered in a thick bark. This bark gives the creature a form of armor, allowing it to withstand fire to some degree and take bullets by the dozen.
Weaknesses: Will be killed if the sacrificial knife in its chest is somehow driven deeper into its body.

History: The Tabanga was a beast of legend, a story of revenge a person can take after being wrongfully killed. Kimo, the son of the recently dead chief, was wrongfully killed after being accused of being responsible for his father's death. Vowing revenge against his killers, the mortal soul transformed into Tabanga, the legendary tree monster of the island's folklore. As the days passed, a strange tree growth began to grow out of Kimo's grave, and it quickly began to grow larger. The local American scientists soon removed the creature's body from the ground and moved it to their labs where they began to try and save its life. After being revived by one of Dr. Mason's formulas, the creature broke out of the complex and began to scourge the island.
After killing Korey, Kimo's widow who turned her back on him, and then Chief Maranka, the natives tried to set a trap that would burn the monster. Tano, another who plotted against Kimo, lured the creature into the pit where several torches were thrown on it. After the inferno died down and everyone thought the tree creature was dead, it rose up, ready to continue its murderous rampage.
Finally it killed Tano and then grabbed Dr. Mason as the Americans searched for the creature. It began to carry the woman to the quicksand pools around the jungle, but again it was met with resistance, but this time from the other scientists. They began to pelt the creature with gun shots, and once it turned around and released Dr. Mason, a single shot was fired into the sacrificial knife that was lodged in its chest. The blade was driven deeper into its body and punctured its heart, killing it in an instant.
