History: A demon straight out of hell, Pumpkinhead, as it has come to be known, is a demon of vengeance. Those that have been wronged, those craving revenge, can use the creature’s divine might at a terrible cost: their soul. After his boy was accidentally killed by city folk, Ed Harley ventured into the woods and found the old mystic woman, Haggis, the watcher of the demon and summoner of its power. Using the mortal’s own blood, the old woman awoke the demon and soon the hunt was on, but it wasn’t as neat and clean as Mr. Harley thought it would be. As the creature hunted the group of teens, Ed began to see through its own eyes!

After killing three of the teens responsible for the boy’s death, Pumpkinhead followed Chris, Tracey, and Joel back to the local town. It confronted them, but was attacked by Harley whom now wanted to end this bloodbath that he created. After being hitting it with a shotgun, Joel walked up to it, thinking it was dead. It suddenly sprang to life and grabbed the human’s leg and then impaled him with his own rifle. Chris and Tracey managed to escape as Harley was overcome with the images being transmitted to him by Pumpkinhead. After nobody in the town helped, the pair found aid in a local boy, Bunt, who took them to an abandoned church.

Not driven off by the holy grounds, Pumpkinhead injures Billy as the young boy and girl escape. Dragging Billy behind him, the demon of vengeance is confronted by the one who wished for his wrath: Mr. Harley.

Grabbing his homemade flamethrower, Harley prepared to burn the beast, but accidentally impaled himself in the shoulder. Noticing how the monster reacted, Harley dropped the weapon and headed to his truck. As the creature grabbed Tracey by the throat, Harley got to his truck and pulled out a gun and shot himself in the head. Both man and monster fell down, but it still wasn’t over! The man’s body rose up, and so did Pumpkinhead!

It grabbed Bunt, and as Harley begged for the girl to shoot him, he began to change. Firing several times, she killed the demon’s source of power. The beast fell down dead and burst into flames, but Ed Harley had paid the greatest price for awakening the beast. His body would be used to call on the next Pumpkinhead, and his soul was destined to walk the Earth for an eternity.

Almost two decades later, the Wallis Crematorium began to sell the organs of the dead on the black market and bury the bodies out in the woods. When the locals discovered this, they went to Haggis to conjure up the old demon of vengeance. Formed out of Ed Harley’s body, the creature went on the hunt, seeking out those responsible for the travesty, including Bunt who got himself mixed up in the villainy.

The beast attacked the prison where the Bunt and two others were. After it killed one of the men, the other two escaped, leaving the beast to track them down again. It soon found its prey back at Doc Fraiser’s, the one responsible for organizing the crimes, house. It slaughtered yet another as the remaining trio escaped back to town and to the church.

The demon arrived at the church, blocking the doors and climbing up the wall and ceiling to gain entrance. After the priest splashed the beast with holy water, the monster tossed it into a table of candles, quickly engulfing the mortal in flames. As the fires spread, the creature killed off the sheriff that began to open fire. With flames racing up the walls of the building, the mass of people finally managed to break through the barricaded doors. The ceiling gave way and sent a wave of debris crashing down on one of Pumpkinhead’s summoners, killing the man. For a brief moment, Pumpkinhead was down. As its targets watched on in horror, Pumpkinhead walked out of the burning doors and the chase was on yet again.

Now knowing the secret of Pumpkinhead, Doc Fraiser began to track down those that called on it. Just as the beast found him again, the vile human killed one of its awakeners. The creature fell down yet again, giving the doctor time to escape, searching out the others that summoned it.

As the doc and his young love hid out in the motel, so did Molly Sue, one of its callers. She had accepted the fate and come to wait it out, but as Bunt helped the others put an end to the killings, Pumpkinhead arrived. Molly Sue was killed and the doctor managed to escape, but the creature’s vengeance continued. Following Fraiser back to the crematorium, Pumpkinhead slaughtered the villain as the final body was burned. The plan, hoping that burning the bodies of those butchered like they were intended, failed, the final one who summoned the beast’s wrath killed herself in the fires, forcing the demon to release Bunt and Oliver.

Pumpkinhead’s body reverted back to Harley’s, but the next body of the creature had been gathered by Haggis, and soon the beast would be unleashed yet again.

The demon of vengeance would be summoned once more, and this time it was in the legendary feud between the Hatfield and McCoy families. After Ricky McCoy and Jodi Hatfield fell in love, Ricky’s younger sister was killed by the Hatfield boys. Blaming the entire Hatfield family, Ricky sought out vengeance in the form of Pumpkinhead.

Despite the restless spirit of Ed Harley begging Haggis to not summon the beast for the young man, Pumpkinhead was conjured again, and all of the Hatfield family would pay for what happened to Ricky’s sister. The demon began to kill, and Ricky was loving every second of it, watching from Pumpkinhead’s own eyes as it stalked and killed those he blamed on Sarah’s death.

Following Ricky’s orders to continue, Pumpkinhead went in to finish its course. With the McCoys and Hatfields setting their differences aside to defeat the beast Ricky summoned, the demon began its final assault. Slaughtering all those before it, even the sheriff who escaped its vengeance five years previously, Pumpkinhead was confronted by Ricky when the beast was about to kill Jodie.

Begging his love to shoot him, she did so, but the first shot didn’t end it. As Pumpkinhead marched forward, the human also did, trying to hold the demon back until being shot again. Ricky was dead, and Pumpkinhead’s course ended for now.
