History: Stolen by the Chronos corporation labs by Dr. Tetsu Segawa, the Guyver unit was thought to be lost forever when Balcus' prized Zoanoids couldn't find where the scientist hid it. A few days past and soon a young man named Sean Barker came across the unit in the back alleys of the city, but didn't know what it was. While being mugged in another alley, the unit came out of his backpack and fell on the ground, and soon, Barker's head was smashed into the mechanical device. Somehow activated by the blow, the alien technology began to merge with Sean's body, giving him the full, unlimited power of the Guyver! The thugs that tried to beat down the teenager were quickly forced to retreat as knives and guns had no affect on the hero's armor.
With the power of the Guyver, Sean now found himself protecting Mizky Segawa from the clutches of Chronos and its Zoanoids. After saving her from being kidnapped, Sean, Mizky, and CIA agent Max Reed managed to escape the Zoanoids for the first time, but were soon trapped in an abandoned building. There, the group of Zoanoids demanded the Guyver in return for Mizky's life, and with no other choice, Sean became the Guyver for a second time.
Even against seemingly impossible odds, the Guyver fought hard against the group, even managing to kill two of the Zoanoids, but when Lisker, the group's leader head butted him, the weakness of the alien hero was discovered. After several hits, Lisker pulled out the orb on the Guyver's head, and with the unit destroyed, the Guyver's body began to melt into a pile of black goo, but unaware to the fools at Chronos, the unit had a special, built-in protective device that allowed it to regenerate its host's body fully. After Mizky grabbed the unit from Chronos labs and it was knocked from her hand and knocked into a Zoanoid's maw, the unit began to regenerate the Guyver entirely, and the hero rose up from the dead Zoanoid's gut.
Once again Lisker and his soldiers attacked the Guyver, but the hero's power was much stronger than theirs, and even Lisker's head was crushed under the Guyver's strength, but when Balcus revealed his huge, Zoalord form, the hero's great strength counted for nothing. As the huge Zoanoid held the Guyver down and prepared to remove the unit once again, the hero's chest began to glow and open on its own, the powerful Megasmasher fired out. Roaring in a mixture of anger and terror, Balcus and the Los Angeles Chronos were blown to pieces, but the reign of the Guyver had only just started.
Without the Chronos corporation functioning in LA, the hero turned himself into a form of vigilante, attacking gangsters and mobsters in the name of justice, but when reports started to come from a small archaeological dig about “werewolf” attacks, and seeing some of the cave drawings found, Sean left the city in order to uncover the truth on what was going on. Once there, the screams calling out another attack made Sean rush to the area once again, but the attack was not by a bear or a werewolf, but a new type of Zoanoid. Derzerb and the hero drew battle in the woods, but before the Guyver could finish the Zoanoid off, the others of the camp rushed into the area, hoping to scare what they thought was a bear away.
As the secrets of the dig began to unravel, and the news on what they found was an alien space craft and that the United States Government had an agent working at the dig, Chronos began to take over. After stealing a secondary unit from the ship, the Zoanoids kidnapped Cori, the owner of the dig's daughter. The Guyver was quick to the rescue and attacked the two Zoanoids. The first, an insect type, was quickly destroyed, but Derzerb was a much stronger threat, but even he was no match for the alien hero after Sean broke its hands and blew out its eyes.
When Sean returned back to the dig, the Zoanoids had taken complete control of it, all of them under the command of Crane. After killing several more Zoanoids, the Guyver was face to face with the powerful Crane, but the Zoanoid revealed to the hero a lethal secret. The Zoanoid leader had merged with the second discovered unit to become the first ever Guyver Zoanoid!
The battle between the two Guyvers then began, but the unit Crane had was damaged and already malfunctioned, but even then the villain's strength matched the Guyver's. As Crave drove his blades deep into the Guyver's chest, Cori shot the Guyver Crane in the head with a pistol, the bullet damaging the orb even further and allowing Sean to get up and rip it out. Without the orb, the Guyver Zoanoid began to melt down, screaming in pain and agony as Sean unleashed his Megasmasher! In just a few seconds, the beam vaporized the dying Guyver Zoanoid, ending the battle.
Sean and the rest managed to escape as the alien ship activated and began to head back into space. While the US Government would lead an underground war against Chronos and its Zoanoids, the Guyver would wage its own campaign, a one-man army for the true name of peace and justice.
