History: Thriving in the deserts of Egypt, and especially within the lost city of Hamunaptra, a species of dangerous insect existed. They were used thousands of years ago when condemning high priest Imhotep to the Hom Dai, feeding on his flesh for months. When an expedition team reached the lost city, they accidently had awoken Imhotep. When a swarm of locusts overran their camp, they were driven into the lost city and soon fled for their lives from an even deadlier insect: the scarabs! Like floodwater, the beetles covered the floor and devoured a few of the workers in mere seconds! The group managed to survive and escape the insects, but the wrath of Imhotep had only just begun!
When the resurrected mummy was defeated and Hamunaptra sank beneath the sands of the desert, the insects did also. While they fed on one last mortal soul, they were lost for nearly a decade until a new team arrived to resurrect Imhotep once more. During their dig, they came across a nest of the ravenous insects. The flesh eaters killed several of the diggers, but were soon incinerated by flamethrowers.
