History: The king of the monsters was once again on the warpath. Making his way toward Los Angeles, Godzilla demolished countless homes and devastated the area. Not a soul could stand in his way… or so everyone thought. A distance away from the carnage, a young boy tried to convince his hero Charles Barkley, famed basketball superstar, to battle the nuclear menace! At first he was apprehensive, but the boy managed to challenge the player to a game of one-on-one. Flipping a magic silver dollar to decide who got the ball, it landed on its edge! Barkley reached down to grab the coin, but something extraordinary happened: he grew!
Matching the size of the monster king, Barkley witnessed firsthand the destruction Godzilla wrought. He chucked his basketball at the leviathan’s face, gaining the attention and anger of the juggernaut. Luring him out of the city, Barkley took him to an abandoned shuttle scaffold. Turning it into a basketball hoop of epic proportions, the human challenged the irradiated dinosaur to the most awesome one-on-one ever played!
Thousands flocked to the sidelines to witness the game of the Gods! Despite Godzilla’s brute force and size, he proved a formidable opponent for the agile Barkley. However, the hero was much more skilled and scored point after point! Growing angrier, Godzilla blasted the giant ball with his atomic ray, melting it in Charles Barkley’s hands! The game was over, leaving Barkley the winner by default. With a few encouraging words, Barkley turned the monster king into a friend and took him to a new, gigantic hoop erected in the Grand Canyon. Now wearing Nikes of his own, Godzilla was left to tone his basketball skills while Charles Barkley returned to his semi-normal life.
