History: Created by the brilliant but insane Dr. Nikaidou, Jiras thrived at the bottom of a small Japanese lake. It remained calm and asleep during the day, only becoming active at night at the command of its master. When the scientist captured one of their own, the Science Patrol arrived to find their lost friend. Just as they circled the lake with their VTOL, two fishermen disturbed the monster when poison fishing. As Dr. Nikaidou rushed in to calm his creation, Jiras made it ashore, shrugging off Science Patrol weapons. Confronting the team and claiming the beast as his own, the madman appeared before Jiras. Without remorse, Jiras nearly crushed the human.
As the Science Patrol weapons continued to fail to stop it, Hayata summoned Ultraman into battle! While the beast crushed the facility he was created in, Ultraman attacked! The two fought, Jiras trying to strike the hero with his electric ray! Dodging it twice, Ultraman managed to get in close and rip Jiras’ huge frill from its neck! As blood flowed around his neck, the man-made dinosaur again collided with the hero!
As the pair continued their epic battle, both Ultraman and Jiras charged one another. The red and silver giant thrust his hand into Jiras’ body, hitting an internal organ. As they turned to face one another, Jiras collapsed to the ground, dead. Before heading out, Ultraman gathered the creature’s severed frill and placed it around its neck in a sign of respect. Upon seeing his own creation dead, the wounded Dr. Nikaidou crawled to his monster before dying himself.
