Dilios, the only Spartan survivor, began to retell the events of the brave warrior’s life time and time again. Starting with when Leonidas was all but a boy, he told legions of soldiers how their king faced down a vicious wolf in the wilderness. The giant wolf had the boy cornered, but Leonidas held his ground and spear. When the animal lunged, Leonidas thrust his spear forward, killing it. When Leonidas returned to Sparta, he brought with him the skin of the wolf. He returned as the King of Sparta!
