History: The arch nemesis of Carl Hunter, a man who had been trapped in the volcanic crater for years, having crash landed there in a similar manner to the group of newcomers. The aquatic creature would attack Carl’s raft whenever he left his island cave to go ashore, only to be fended off by huge torches which Carl would carry with him. As Carl brought Maggie to the newly fixed helicopter, which had just escaped the clutches of the Tyrannosaurus, the Elasmosaurus showed itself again. Again Carl fought it off with the torches, allowing the helicopter to pick up Maggie. However, the long-necked reptile had finally learned its lesson. Instead of attacking head-on again, it dove underneath Carl’s raft then lifted and overturned it, sending Carl into the water and snuffing out his torches. Not willing to let the man die, the people in the helicopter circled around. Leaning out of the side door, Commander Harold launched a flare into the creature’s mouth. Hissing in pain, the Elasmosaurus quickly dove underwater. With the attacker dealt with, the group plucked Carl from the water and the six flew out of the crater to safety.
